Fuck yea baseball stats

MVP race is heating up for sure, in my opinion the top candidates in order are:

  1. Jacoby Ellsbury
  2. Curtis Granderson
  3. Justin Verlander
  4. Adrian Gonzalez
  5. Michael Young
  6. Jose Bautista
  7. Mark Teixeira
  8. Dustin Pedroia
  9. Miguel Cabrerra
  10. Paul Konerko
Justin Verlander has some incredible stats… even MVP like numbers, so far he sits at:
19-5
2.28 ERA
212 strikeouts
0.88 WHIP
——-
He has 7 more starts projected…. how incredible would it be if he won all 7 games? He would of won 26 games in the regular season. That has not been done since 1990 when Bob Welch of the A’s won 27 games. It’s a long shot but…. what if?

How was your June? Unless you’re Cliff Lee (see previous) you really can’t compete with Justin Verlander. The nasty right hander had some out of this world numbers during June 2011:
6-0, 54 K, 0.71 WHIP
AL Cy Young? yea I think so

There has to be some sort of stat to pertain to this but I cannot find it. This week both Fransisco Liriano and Justin Verlander had starts where they went at least 7 IP hitless. They have both thrown no hitters this season. Barely missed their 2nd of the year. Just weird. Love baseball.

In Justin Verlander’s last combined 3 starts he had a stretch of 50 batters without giving up a hit. That’s like almost throwing 2 straight no hitters…. but it’s okay, he’ll be just happy with his one no hitter this season.

Justin Verlander pitched a no hitter today against the Blue Jays. This is the 2nd no hitter this week and the second one of Verlander’s young career. He faced the minimum striking out 4 and walking only one. hats off to you, Justin!
