  2. Curtis Granderson
  3. Justin Verlander
  4. Adrian Gonzalez
  5. Michael Young
  6. Jose Bautista
  7. Mark Teixeira
  8. Dustin Pedroia
  9. Miguel Cabrerra
  10. Paul Konerko
Alfredo Aceves set a major league record on Tuesday night. When he won the game for the Red Sox he became the most winning-est pitcher in MLB history with at least 20 career decisions. He has a lifetime record of 20-2. Not shabby.

Somebody puts a gun to your head and demands you to say who is the active leader in wins in the entire MLB right now? You choke, what do you say? Roy Hallady? CC Sabathia?
You’re wrong. It’s Tim Wakefield… that’s right. Tim Wakefield. The crafty knuckeballer has 197 career wins and is creeping closer to 200. He has been in the league since 1992 when he started with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He has beaten 27 out of the 30 MLB teams. The only ones he has not beaten are: the Red Sox, the Pirate and the Astros. He had a chance last weekend to beat the Pirates but came short and the same thing this previous week against the Astros. Hall of famer or not, Wakefield certainly has had amazing durability throughout his tenure in the MLB. He will surely be missed whenever he does hang them up.
Hats off to you, Timmy.

The Red Sox are pretty clutch when it comes to the 7th inning… they have now scored 74 runs in the 7th inning this year throughout 82 games… no other team has scored more than 47.

Adrian Gonzalez has had at least 1 RBI in the last 9 games. Coincidentally the Red Sox have won all 9 of these games. Both statistics being the longest in the Majors this season.

Jon Lester won his 7th game of the season on May 25th making him the first in the league to win 7. His record stands at 7-1. He is now 68-26 in his career. He has a .723% Winning percentage. This is the highest in MLB history of any pitcher with at least 50 decisions…. wow.

Adrian Gonzalez of the Boston Red Sox is on pace to have 151 Runs Batted in…. the last left hander to to bat in over 150 runs was Ted Williams way back in 1949 with 159 RBI…. for the Boston Red Sox. Interestingly enough, Williams did not lead the league solely that year in RBI’s…. his teammate, shortstop Vern Stephens also had 159

Carl Crawford had a walkoff hit last night, May 19th vs the Detroit Tigers…. the Red Sox have 4 walkoff hits this month. Carl Crawford has 3 of them.
Clutch.

Alex Rodriguez since joining the Yankees has made 17 errors vs the Red Sox…. that is 7 more than he has committed against any other single team. Can you say crumbles under pressure?

Since joining the Red Sox these are John Lackey’s numbers…:
16-15, .516 W/L Record
4.76 ERA
247.2 IP, 174 K’s
6.3 K/9 IP…
——
So that means that since leaving the Angels his ERA has almost gone up a full run, his win loss record down .60+ points and he is averaging 1 less strikeout per 9 innings pitched…. overrated.
